Gorgeous one-year-old black and white kitten SHADOW was RESCUED, but then DUMPED into the kill-happy ACC due to Pet Conflict and a lingering kitty cold. This adorable,”AFFECTIONATE” kitten caught the eye of an ACC volunteer, who lovingly writes: “Shadow is a young dark and handsome boy that is ready to go to his new forever home. This boy’s previous adopter returned him because poor cutie Shadow was coming down with a kitty cold. Shadow is now ready to go to him new forever home where he can recover from his little kitty cold, and get back to the playful boy that he is. Pull Shadow today from MACC!!!” Sadly, poor Shadow will DIE at noon tomorrow, another INNOCENT VICTIM of the notorious ACC kitty cold and a badly broken shelter system. Shadow earned a near-perfect AVERAGE behavior rating for his HEADBUTTS, he’s ALREADY NEUTERED, & he’s GREAT WITH KIDS! 05/04/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
05/04/15 11:01hrs The adopter stated when she reached home, Shadow allowed her to hold him and pet him however he did attempt to escape from her arms after a short while. The adopter was walking into her bathroom which is where he was placed and Shadow lunged at her foot without biting or scratching her. He pawed at her foot. This morning the adotpter stated that she left Shadow in the bathroom door ajar . Shadow left the bathroom and explored the home and in that time walked towards her cat. The adopter’s cat growled and spit at Shadow, however Shadow remained neutral in the same position without reacting. The adopter stated Shadow ate wet food while she was with him and stayed in the bathroom however he meowed through the night to get out.

Please take note: Shadow lived with an 11 year old boy in his last home and was relaxed and affctionate. Also, he can play rough and nip if he gets really excited. Reaction to assessor: Shadow looks neutral in his cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Shadow remains lying down on his cage bedding, alert with soft eyes. Reaction to touch: Shadow head-butts the assessor’s hand, stans with tail up, and appreciates petting on the head and body. Reaction to Being Picked up: He calmly jumps back into his cage. Placement determination: Average Shadow interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
