IKAT – A1051972
Safe 9-25-2015 Brooklyn
**SAFE 09/25/15** What do IKAT, CHECKER and DAMASK have in common? This little group of handsome kitties were all TRAPPED and brought to the ACC as strays on September 19th. The shelter has, as usual, warehoused them for a few days before putting them on tonight’s crowded euth list. IKAT earned a nice EXPNOCHILD rating and the public will be able to see him on the ACC website, but CHECKER and DAMASK are NEW HOPE ONLY and can only be foster/adopted by someone who works with a New Hope rescue group. Any questions, all you potential foster/adopters out there? Message the PODR/Urgent help desk at [email protected]. Otherwise, please pledge toward their care and share IKAT-CHECKER-DAMASK to safety, tonight!

09/22/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Notes: Ikat was brought to the care center as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to what we are seeing during the evaluation. At the time of the assessment he was displaying fearful behavior; does not seek attention from the assessor and becomes alert when the kennel was open. Retreats as I started to get closer but after a steady slow approach using soft voices he relaxed a little and I was able to pet him and interact with him. I was also able to pick Ikat up and although he was tense no fractious behavior was display. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents with no children. Reaction to assessor: does not come to front but remains neutral When spoken quietly: does not come to front but remains neutral Reaction to door cage opening: retreats, appears nervous Reaction to touch: stress meows but allows petting Try picking cat up: Ikat is tolerant of this type of handling for a limited time before struggling to get free Placement Determination: Experience no child
