MIDNIGHT RAY – A1051938
Safe 9-25-2015 Brooklyn Rescue: Feline Rescue of SI Please honor your pledges: http://felinerescueofstatenisland.org/donation/
**SAFE 09/25/15** MIDNIGHT RAY is a stunning, NEUTERED boy who carries a few extra pounds with him. Sounds more like a LOST PET than a true “stray,” doesn’t he? This superb boy is a bit rattled at the ACC, which is completely understandable, and yet EVEN through his fear, he did well enough for that ExpNoChild rating. That says a lot about his true nature and it’s a reason that THIS CAT deserves to be saved! A FOSTER or ADOPTER can stand between MIDNIGHT RAY and the needle of death tomorrow, but that person MUST be found tonight!

09/21/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Midnight Ray was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. The finder was able to place him into a carrier and bring him into the care center without any issues. Midnight Ray was tense during his initial medical exam, but allowed handling. Reaction to Assessor: Midnight Ray was calm and relaxed upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Midnight Ray looks at the assessor with relaxed eyes. Reaction to cage door opening: Midnight Ray remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Midnight Ray allows brief petting, but hisses when touched on his back. When attempting to pet him again, he pats the assessor’s hand gently with his paw and the end of his tail begins to flicker. Reaction to being picked up: Midnight Ray hisses and struggles away from the assessor’s hand. Placement Determination: Experience No Child Midnight Ray tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
