LUIGI is an 11 year old neutered boy who is friendly, affectionate and lived with children. Sadly his owner moved and did not take his cat with him. LUIGI certainly charmed the staff at the shelter. Luigi was a bit shy and preferred to watch me from his comfy bed, but he was otherwise friendly. Luigi will do well with someone who can have the patience to let him come out of his shell and get used to his new surroundings. Come and meet Luigi today! 11/17/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
11/17/15 09:59 BASIC INFO Luigi is an 11 year old neutered Maine Coon cat. His owner got him as a gift from a friend 11 years ago. She had to surrender him because she’s moving to a home that doesn’t allow pets. He went to the vet most recently in 2014 and is apparently healthy. SOCIALIZATION Luigi lived with a child starting when he was 12 years old. Luigi is relaxed, affectionate, and tolerant with children. He doesn’t play. He hasn’t been around other pets. He’s never bit anyone. BEHAVIOR Luigi has no known behavior issues. He enjoys car rides. He struggles during baths. He doesn’t mind when someone trims his nails, picks up/holds him, or puts him in a carrier. He enjoys being brushed. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW Luigi’s family describes him as friendly, affectionate, sweet, quiet, independent, and medium energy. He follows his family around. They think he knows how beautiful he is and likes to show off. Luigi lived inside and slept on a rug or cat bed. He ate dry food. He’s littertrained, uses a hooded litterbox with crystal litter, and didn’t have accidents. He scratched a cardboard scratching post that hung on a door knob. He didn’t scratch furniture. INTAKE Luigi had a soft body in his carrier while I pet him, scanned him (-), and took his collar off. He allowed me to pick him up and put him on the counter. He walked around as I took his pictures. He hissed while looking down towards the floor. He resumed being quiet while I blocked him from walking off, talked to him, and continued taking his pictures. I picked him up with a towel and he growled quietly as I set him in his kennel. He lied down at the front and rubbed his head against the cage as we talked to him and pet him through the kennel. He didn’t resist or retreat.
