I am a neutered male brn tabby domestic sh mix. The shelter thinks I am about 5 YEARS old.

I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 11/17/2015 from NY 10458, owner surrender reason stated was NYCHA BAN.

11/17/15 14:41 Daren A1058199 is being surrendered because the owner is physically unable to care for him. He was left with the current owner by the previous owner who did not return for him. The owners daughter came into BXACC to surrender for her. She says that he is litterbox trained, has no accidents out of the box, is great with children and loves attention. She says that he struggled a bit to get into the carrier. He had toys in the home and loved to play with her neices and nephews. There was also another cat in the house that he got along well with. Behavior during intake Daren was very friendly and allowed all handling. He allowed to be taken out of the carrier and he allowed to be positioned for photos. I was able to scan(-) and collar. He purred when I picked him up and I held him. He tolerated all petting.

A volunteer writes: Daren is a handsome tabby who seems mellow and easy going. He waited patiently for his snuggle time and was happy to be petted, walking back and forth under my hand for maximum caresses! When our cuddle time was up, Daren hung around the front of his cage, hoping for a second go around! He would do well with someone who can give him the attention he craves! Daren previously lived with children and his former owner states that he is great with children! What are you waiting for? Come and make Daren a part of your family today!

Daren’s former owner stated he is great with children and loves attention. She says that he struggled a bit to get into the carrier. He had toys in the home and loved to play with her neices and nephews. There was also another cat in the house that he got along well with. Reaction to assessor: Daren looks anxious in his cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Daren remains sitting upright by the front of the cage, meowing attention. Reaction to touch: Daren head-butts the assessor’s hand, and appreciates petting on the head and body. Reaction to Being Picked up: He calmly jumps back into his cage. Placement determination: Average Daren interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
