08/17/15 16:25 Intake Behavior: Dr Shae sat in the back of the carrier. When approached Dr Shaw attepmt to hide. She allowed handling for collaring but struggled when the couneslor attempted to take the cat out of the carrier. Her photo was done in the carrier to prevent further stress and fleeing.

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to Assessor: Dr. Shaw becomes stiff and alert upon approach. She lowers her body and shifts to the back of the cage when softly spoken to. Reaction to cage door opening: Dr. Shaw squeezes her body into the corner of the cage. Reaction to touch: Dr. Shaw tries to avoid touch and hisses at the assessor’s hand. She does not allow touch; she continues to shift away and attempts to flee from the cage. Behavior Determination: New Hope Only Dr. Shaw is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and/or may require further investigation before placement in a home. She is extremely fearful in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
