*** SAFE 09/03/15 *** FIVE MONTH OLD BARNA NEEDS A HELPING HAND…BARNA is afraid and alone at the ACC…having arrived there in a trap. It looks as if BARNA has not had a lot of human contact and needs someone to show him love and kindness probably for the first time in his young life….THE QUESTION IS WILL HE GET THAT CHANCE?? PLEASE OFFER TO FOSTER OR ADOPT YOUNG BARNA AND GIVE HIM THE LIFETIME HE DESERVES…DON’T WAIT, THE ACC WON’T TOMORROW……

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Note: Barna was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. He was very nervous and tense upon intake and during his initial medical exam, but relaxes once held and starts to purr. Reaction to Assessor: Barna becomes stiff and alert upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Barna looks around and starts to meow. Reaction to cage door opening: Barna retreats to the back of the cage and hisses. Reaction to touch: Barna hisses and strikes near the assessor’s hand. He continues to meow and looks for an exit. When attempting to pet him again, he sniffs the assessor’s hand and allows gentle petting, but slowly tries to shift away. Placement Determination: Experience No Child Barna tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
