***SAFE 12/14/15*** PANTHER PRINCE IN SEARCH OF A NEW KINGDOM…..YAMS and a friend were found in a yard and brought to the ACC by yet another misguided finder….Our ebony man is three and has a lovely AVERAGE rating! (He’s a head-butter!)…One would think this guy would be out on the adoption floor but the ACC gifted him with their lovely cold so now he is listed instead…….YAMS NEEDS SOME ANTIBIOTICS AND A HOME!! PLEASE APPLY TO FOSTER THIS LICORICE LOVER TONIGHT AND BRING HIM HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS!!

I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 11/27/2015 from NY 11214, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY. I came in with Group/Litter #K15-040777.

11/27/15 19:09 Yams is an all black male cat taht came in as a stray with a litter mate. Finder He stated that he recently started seeing them on the side of his house a few days ago and decided to bring him in. He stated that they are friendly and allowed all handling. Upon intake, Yams attempted to flee from the exam table resulting in him not being collard and being photographed inside the carrier. However, he displayed no signs of behavior issues and allowed handling.

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Yams was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. The finder started seeing him and his littermate on the side of his house for a few days and stated he is friendly and allowed all handling. He attempted to flee upon intake, but he allowed handling throughout the intake process and during his initial medical exam. Reaction to Assessor: Yams was calm, relaxed, and friendly by the front. Reaction when softly spoken to: Yams head-butts the cage door. Reaction to cage door opening: Yams remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Yams was a bit hesitant at first, but he head-butts, begins to purr, and leans into petting. Reaction to being picked up: Yams remains calm and allows handling. Placement Determination: Average Yams interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for cat parents with average experience.
