A volunteer writes,”This cool cat has the coloring of a Creamsicle and ius just as sweet. PETYR likes to give friendly head butts and really enjoys interacting with people. I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 11/23/2015 from NY 11212, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY.

11/23/15 19:34 Petyr is an orange and white male cat that came in as a stray. Finder stated that he was abandoned in a burned down building. People in the neighborhood informed her that he is a neutered cat and they have been feeding him. No further information was given. Upon intake, Petyr was loos bodied and allowed all handling. He was collard and photographed.

11/25/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE

Petyr was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. The finder says he was found in a burned down building and the people in the neighborhood has been feeding him. He had a loose body upon intake and allowed all handling throughout the intake process and during his initial medical exam. Reaction to Assessor: Petyr was calm and relaxed by the front. Reaction when softly spoken to: Petyr looks around at his surroundings. Reaction to cage door opening: Petyr remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Petyr slowly leans into petting, lifts his butt when pet on his lower back, and begins to purr. Reaction to being picked up: Petyr remains calm and allows handling. Placement Determination: Average Petyr interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
