04/10/15 11:35 Cat Name: Tiger Reason for surrender: Owner sick Relationship: Owner had Tiger for 6 years as a gift from a family member. People: Tiger lived with one female adult and has been around babies and children ages 7 and 6 yeas old. Tiger is relaxed and respectful towards everyone she meets. Owner stated Tiger will follow her around the house to make sure she was safe. Other Animals: Tiger has never interacted / been around cats or dogs. Personality/Habits: Owner stated Tiger is a good companion and there to comfort owner when sick. Her activity level is high. Owner stated Tiger will jump from her scratching post (made out of leather) to her dresser and the pillows back and forth for play. Tiger likes to look at water but doesn’t like taking baths. She doesn’t like to be picked up and held but allowed to have her coat brushed. Tiger likes to play with anything that’s on the floor but teddy bears especially. Tiger likes to follow owner around the house, be in the same room or stay in her favorite spot which is owner bed. Tiger favorite place to sleep was owner back or stomach. Owner stated Tiger is independent and playful. Training: Tiger is indoors only and litter box trained. The type of liter she uses is called Fresh Step and her litter box has a hood on it. Feeding: Tiger eats both wet and dry food called Meow Mix and Indoor Outdoor twice in the morning and evening time. Her favorite treats are called Temptations Behavior upon intake: Tiger was in heat, meowing, growling and purring. She scanned negative for a microchip and allowed all handling.

Owner Profile: Tiger previous surrendered her to the care center because they became sick and unable to care for her. Tiger lived with one adult and has been around children ages 7 and 6. Tiger is said to be relaxed and respectful towards everyone she meets. Tiger has never been introduced to other animals so her behavior towards them are unknown. Tiger is indoors only and litter box trained. Notes: Tiger seems to not be thriving in this environment and at the time of the assessment she was displaying behaviors that prevent placement in the adoptions room and may require further investigation before placement in a home. She has tried to scratch and is extremely fearful. She currently does not tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time. Reaction to assessor: does not come to front but remains neutral (2) When spoken quietly: does not come to front but remains neutral (2) Reaction to door cage opening: becomes stiff, alert (3) Reaction to touch: growls, hisses, strikes, does not allows petting at all (5) Try picking cat up: did not attempt to pick the cat up, fractious behavior Placement Determination: New Hope
