WHO WOULD LEAVE THIS FRIENDLY AND PRECIOUS BOY OUT TO TRY TO FEND FOR HIMSELF ? DID HE BECOME LOST? HE WAS FOUND NEAR THE BRONX ZOO….HIS STORY IS A MYSTERY BUT HE’LL DIE WITHOUT THE OFFER OF A FOSTER HOME!!! 11/27/15 10:34 Taughannock was found outside, living among other stray cats. His finder reports that he seems friendly with new people. He approached her, allowed her to pet him, and went into her carrier. Taughannock had a soft, relaxed body while we pet him, picked him up, scanned him (-), collared him, positioned him for pictures, and put him in a kennel. He approached and head butted us while we pet him. He didn’t resist, retreat, or vocalize.

Taughannock was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. The finder says he was found outside, living among other stray cats and is friendly with new people. He was able to approach her and he allowed petting and went into the carrier. He had a soft body upon intake, and was relaxed when handled. He allowed all handling throughout the intake process and during his initial medical exam. Reaction to assessor: Taughannock was calm and relaxed by the front. Reaction when softly spoken to: Taughannock blinks softly at the assessor. Reaction to cage door opening: Taughannock remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Taughannock gets up and appreciates all petting. He head-butts, begins to purr, and leans into petting. Reaction to being picked up: Taughannock remains calm and allows handling. Behavior Determination: Average Taughannock interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
