SUNSHINE – A1039054
6-22-2015 Manhattan
**GONE 06/22/15** Seriously, “allergies” is a total crock of a surrender reason when you can have your own cats, but you can’t keep someone else’s cat because you are, suddenly, “allergic.” Yes, the woman who brought BEGINNER-rated Sunshine to the shelter, where she will probably be killed tomorrow, already has cats! When this woman boarded her daughter’s cats, a litter of KITTENS was the result and Sunshine was one of those kittens. Eight months later, that woman found homes for the rest of Sunshine’s sibs but, since she couldn’t find a home for Sunshine, she decided she was ALLERGIC to her. To repeat, SUNSHINE has a perfect BEGINNER rating and does not deserve to be killed because of the rampant irresponsibility of the people who bred her. Oh, and Sunshine aborted a fetus at the ACC on June 20th, so she probably needs to see a vet as soon as she gets out! Please go out of your way to find a foster/adopter for SUNSHINE, tonight!

06/06/15 13:01 BASIC INFO Sunshine’s owner was boarding her daughters’ cats when her cat and one of the visiting cats bred. She found homes for Sunshine’s siblings but has allergies and is unable to keep Sunshine. SOCIALIZATION Sunshine is friendly/outgoing with strangers. She’s spent time with children of all ages that visited her home. She lived with her parents and siblings. She’s relaxed, affectionate, and tolerant with children and the other cats. She plays gently with adults, children, and cats. She cuddled with her mother often. Her mother was assertive and would sometimes hiss and chase her away if she wanted space. Sunshine was tolerant of this and respected her space. Sunshine has never bit anyone. BEHAVIOR Sunshine is relaxed in the car. She doesn’t mind being picked up/held, put in a carrier, or woken up. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW Sunshine’s family describes her as friendly, affectionate, playful, quiet, and high energy. She loves to sit in the window for the sunrise. She sits in her family members’ laps. She likes to play with small plastic cups. Sunshine lived inside and slept on a shelf in the kitchen. She ate dry food and enjoyed tuna. She’s littertrained, used an uncovered litterbox with clumping litter, and didn’t have accidents. She scratched a suit case but didn’t have a scratching post. INTAKE Sunshine was tense as she went into her kennel and crouched in the back with wide eyes. She maintained this but allowed handling-scan (-), collar, pictures, petting. She was easy to handle and didn’t resist/vocalize.
