*** SAFE 05/12/15*** SPRUCE IS PERFECTLY HEALTHY BUT WILL DIE BECAUSE HE IS NERVOUS IN THE SHELTER. SPRUCE was dumped by his owner who said he had too many pets. This 1 year old boy is wondering what he did to deserve being here. He was nervous and afraid and got and EXPNOCHILD rating. That was enough to let the ACC list this grown kitten. PLEASE DON’T LET THIS HANDSOME BOY BECOME ANOTHER STATISTIC. CONTACT A RESCUE TO PULL HIM TO SAFETY NOW.

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Please take note: He lived in a home with 8 other cats. He is usually very tolerant of them and when he plays with them, he can be gentle, exuberant, or somewhat rough. Also, has been described as playful, friendly, affectionate, shy, fearful, quiet, and independent. Reaction to assessor: Spruce looks tense in his cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Spruce remains crouched down in his litter box, alert with direct stare. Reaction to touch: Spruce accepts the stroke, but flinches on the touch and stiffens up. Placement determination: Experience / no child Spruce tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
