SPOOKY – A1042209
7-13-2015 Brooklyn
***GONE 07/13/15*** SPOOKY’S OWNER DIED, AND NOW WITH A NEW HOPE ONLY RATING, THIS BOY MAY DIE TOO UNLESS YOU HELP! When SPOOKY arrived, probably frightened out of his wits by being brought to ACC, he was listed as a ‘timid, but allows gentle handling’. A few days later poor SPOOKY was sufficiently traumatized enough to be growling and not letting anyone approach him. Since this picture was taken, SPOOKY has had that patch of matted fur shaved-it’s obvious his previous owner probably didn’t brush him much. At 10, SPOOKY can live many more happy years-he just needs someone to step up for him and work with a rescue to get him out of there. Cats who have lived all their lives in a home don’t do well in the crazy chaos of ACC. SPOOKY is a good boy, he just has no idea what’s happened to him-his friend is gone, his life is gone, and without help, he will be too. Black and white cats of 10 don’t hardly ever make it out of ACC alive. Please give this gentle fellow a chance and offer to foster or adopt him. He’d be a good, quiet and sweet guy out of there. Please save SPOOKY!!!

07/07/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Notes: Spooky was brought to the care center due to his previous owner passing away. We don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to what we are seeing during the evaluation. Spooky seems to not be thriving in this environment and at the time of the assessment he was displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and may require further investigation before placement in a home. Spooky is extremely fearful and currently does not tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time. Reaction to assessor: does not come to front but remains neutral When spoken quietly: does not come to front but remains neutral Reaction to door cage opening: becomes nervous, stays at back of the cage, looks around Reaction to touch: Retreats, growls, hisses, strikes, does not allows petting at all Try picking cat up: did not attempt to pick the cat up, fractious behavior Placement Determination: NewHope
