CLYDE – A1042189
7-7-2015 Brooklyn
***GONE 07/07/15*** SPECIAL NEEDS ALERT – FRIENDLY TUXIE KITTEN MAY BE BLIND IN ONE EYE AND HAS NEUROLOGICAL ISSUES – PLEASE GRANT CLYDE A DEATH ROW PARDON!!! Gorgeous tuxie kitten CLYDE, just 13 months old, was BETRAYED by his former family, who stuffed this dear kitten into the kill-happy ACC due to PET HEALTH: “Owner stated Clyde is blind and has neurology problems.” At home, Clyde was PURR-fect at first: “Clyde lived with 3 adults and children ages 5 and 6 years old. Owner stated Clyde used to be friendly towards the children but since he been blind in the left eye he hisses at them. He’s indoors only and his activity level is to a medium. Owner stated he is playful, quiet and independent. He likes to be picked up and held and loves to take baths. He likes to play with stuffed toys. He likes to follow owner around the house or be in his favorite spot which is the bed.” How did Clyde lose his vision? (The ACC cannot find any evidence of blindness in that eye!) Was he ABUSED by the kids? In any case, the heartless ACC wrote Clyde off as a New Hope Only behavior problem. They plan to KILL this precious young boy at noon tomorrow, as PUNISHMENT for his FEAR during his behavioral test. Please open your heart and home to this sweet tuxie kitten! Start RIGHT NOW to apply to foster or adopt dear tuxie kitten CLYDE from the approved New Hope rescue groups! If you can’t save CLYDE yourself, please SHARE His sad story and PLEDGE for his rescue!

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to Assessor: Clyde was calm and relaxed upon approach. When softly spoken to, he lowers his head and blinks. Reaction to cage door opening: Clyde remains immobile. Reaction to touch: Clyde allows brief touch on his head, but hisses and tries to move away from the assessor’s hand. When trying to pet him again, he lifts his paw and prepares to swat. As per previous owner, Clyde has lived with 3 adults and 2 children. The owner said he used to be friendly towards the children, but now that he is blind in his left eye, he hisses at them. They said he is playful, quiet, and independent with a medium activity level. Behavior Determination: NH ONLY Clyde is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and/or may require further investigation before placement in a home. He is fearful in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
