SPINDERELLA – A1045895
Safe 10-1-2015 Staten Island Rescue: Staten Island Hope Please honor your pledges: http://www.statenislandhoperescue.org/
*SAFE 10/01/15 Spinderella came to us as a stray in July. She is extremely patient and loving waiting for the perfect family to adopt her. She is spayed, tested negative for Felv/FIV and ready to go to her forever home.
A volunteer writes: Presently, Spinderella is not putting her best paw forward. She is a bit tense, and she doesn’t feel much like interacting with those around her. Just think how you would feel – confined to a small space, unfamiliar sounds and people, feeling alone? Experienced cat parents who are willing to share their love, expertise and patience with Spinderella will certainly know how to make this lovely kitty feel welcomed so the best of Spinderella can shine through!

Notes: Spinderella came to the shelter as a stray, so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies in a home environment. At the time of the assessment, Spinderella is displaying nervous behavior. She avoids interaction with the assessor but allows handling. Spinderella is exhibiting behavior suited to experienced cat parents who can allow her to adjust slowly to a new home.
9/1/15 – Average Home!
Reaction to assessor: Does not come to the front but remains neutral. (2)
Reaction to being spoken to quietly: Does not come to the front but looks at you. (1)
Reaction to cage door opening: Remains motionless. (2)
Reaction to touch: Allows petting and attention. (1)
Reaction to being picked up: Tolerant of this type of handling, but tense.
Notes: Spinderella came to the shelter as a stray, so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies in a home environment. Due to her length of stay being greater than one month, she needed a new behavior assessment. At the time of the assessment, Spinderella is displaying neutral behavior, not interacting with the assessor but allowing handling. Spinderella is exhibiting behavior suited to an average home, and may simply be a more independent cat.
