07/28/15 21:33 Basic Information: Sox’s is a 7 year old domestic short hair with a tuxedo pattern. She was surrendered because her previous owner is having a new baby and was told by her doctor that she shouldn’t have cats. She got sox as a stray when she was a kitten and has had her for 7 years. The two things she liked most about Sox were that she very friendly and sweet. Social life & Personality: Around children Sox is respectful but doesn’t play. Around other cats she is respectful and very tolerant. Around dogs she is also very tolerant. Sox’s is litter box trained and lived mostly indoors. Her activity level is low and she can be described as confident, mellow, friendly, talkative, affectionate and independent. Behavior Issues: When given a bath Sox is afraid and struggles. When she gets her nails trimmed she is afraid but will tolerate it. She isn’t bothered when her coat is brushed and enjoys being held. If she is disturbed while sleeping she isn’t bothered. For a New Family to Know: Sox used clumping cat litter in a hooded litter box. She likes to play with balls, wand toys, catnip and string. She scratched on a vertical scratching post that was made of rough rope. When her previous owner was home Sox would tend to follow her around and be in the same room. When she played she was gentle. In car rides she is afraid. She eats wet and dry Purina cat food. Behavior during Intake: Sox allowed me to pick her up, pet her and had a relaxed body.

A volunteer writes: Our sweet girl Sox is a low-key tuxedo beauty with funny white stockings on her feet. Gentle and friendly, she enjoys chirping hello when a new person enters the room. Her former owners had awesome things to say about her: Sox is tolerant and respectful around kids, dogs, and other cats; prefers chilling out over engaging in lots of playtime; and is talkative, confident, and affectionate. She’s at that perfect age when cats don’t crave much activity and are happy to just hang with their people and feel cherished and secure. This quiet lovergirl has been overlooked at the Care Center–it’s time she finds the forever home she deserves.
