*** SAFE 04/25/15*** PRETTY PUMPKIN WALKED RIGHT UP TO HER FINDER AND WAS VERY FRIENDLY AND AFFECTIONATE – SO THAT PERSON SCOOPED HER UP AND DUMPED HER IN THE ACC WHERE SHE NOW WILL DIE SATURDAY! Pumpkin was a friendly and affectionate stray who allowed her finder to handle her with ease. Sadly this person for some strange reason felt that Pumpkin needed to go to the shelter where she now will be killed at NOON Saturday if a rescue angel doesn’t arrive for her. Pumpkin got a raw deal – she had bee super friendly, head -butting peoples hands and seeking attention. So when the assessor stuck the fake plastic hand in the cage and Pumpkin swatted and tried to bite it- they slapped this girl with a New Hope rating. Wouldn’t you be upset if someone stuck a fake plastic hand in your face? GET THIS GIRL OUT OF HERE AND INTO A HOME. SHE IS NOT A BAD CAT SHE IS ONLY AFRAID. CONTACT A RESCUE TO PULL HER NOW.

04/24/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Please take note: Pumpkin has been affectionate and allowed finder to pet and handle. Also, Pumpkin comes up to finder seeking attention. Reaction to assessor: Pumpkin looks neutral in his cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Pumpkin remains lying down on her cage bedding. Reaction to touch: Pumpkin stands with tail up and head-butts the assessor’s hand. However, she becomes overly aroused with the touch then bites and swats with claws out at the hand. Placement determination: NH Only Initially Pumpkin solicits petting and attention, but after a few soft passes over the body she begins to bite and swat at the assessor. This may be a sign of petting-induced aggression, where repeated physical contact results in discomfort for the cat, or it may be a sign of overstimulation. As a result of this observed behavior we recommend adopters who are familiar with signs of behavioral arousal and agitation in cats, so that interactions can be ended before Pumpkin becomes reactive. Treats should be used to reward appropriate responses to physical attention.
