09/25/15 18:43 Penelope was found in the backyard of the finders home on Decatur ave in the bronx. She is currently moving and has been cleaning out the back yard and thats when Penelope approached her. She bought her cat food and gave her some broccoli that she was cooking in the house. She says that Penelope is very friendly and allowed to be handled. Behavior during intake Penelope was tense and did not stay still for her photos. She tolerated all petting and was friendly. She was easy to handle-scanning(-),collaring, and transferring into a carrier.

Penelope was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. The finder was cleaning her back yard when Penelope approached her. She says Penelope is very friendly and allowed handling. She was tense upon intake, but tolerated all petting and was easy to handle. Although she was shy during her initial medical exam, she also allowed all handling. Reaction to assessor: Penelope was calm and relaxed by the front. Reaction when softly spoken to: Penelope attempts to sniff the assessor and reaches out with her paw. Reaction to cage door opening: Penelope remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Penelope remains in place for petting, lifts her butt when pet on her lower back, and looks around the room. Reaction to being picked up: Penelope remains calm and allows handling. Behavior Determination: Average Penelope interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
