07/23/15 14:32 Basic Information: Nicey is a 15 year old altered domestic shorthair. Owner stated Nicey is declawed. Owner stated Nicey appears to be healthy. Nicey has been a family pet for 15 years but been the care center for the past 5 years. Owner surrenders Nicey due to personal problems in the family. Social Life and Personality: Nicey lived with two adults and 8 years old. Nicey is tolerant and doesn’t interact with any children. Nicey lived with another cat and dog. Nicey was tolerant and kept her distance. Nicey is indoors only and activity level is low. Owner stated Nicey is shy, mellow, friendly, assertive, affectionate, quiet and independent. Behavior Issues: Nicey has never bitten or scratched anyone owner stated. She is afraid of taking bath so the owner use pet wipes. Nicey is declawed so no nail trimming. She enjoys being picked up and held. For a New Family to Know: Nicey is litter box trained and uses a hooded litter box. She likes to play with catnip toys and stuffed mice toys. She likes to be in the same room as owner, rarely seek attention or stay in her favorite spot which is the corner. She eats wet and dry food called 9 lives once a day. Intake Behavior: Upon intake Nicey was calm and relaxed. She scanned negative for a microchip and allowed all handling.

Reaction to Assessor: Nicey was calm and relaxed upon approach. She looks at the assessor and starts to breathe rapidly when softly spoken to. Reaction to cage door opening: Nicey remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Nicey sniffs the assessor’s hand, lightly head-butts, and begins to purr. Reaction to being picked up: Nicey meows during pick up, but remains soft for handling. As per previous owner, Nicey has lived with 2 adults and an 8 year old. She is tolerant, but doesn’t interact with children. She has lived with another cat and a dog, and was tolerant but kept her distance. She was kept indoors and is described as shy, mellow, friendly, assertive, affectionate, quiet, and independent with a low activity level. Behavior Determination: Average Nicey interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. No known history of behavioral problems. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
