*** MIMSEY WAS BROUGHT TO THE ACC WHEN HIS OWNER COULD NO LONGER CARE FOR HIM – AND HE CAUGHT THE SHELTER COLD AND NOW IS ON DEATH ROW!*** MIMSEY’s owner became sick and someone brought the cat to the kill happy shelter rather than finding this gorgeous house panther a home. MIMSEY is only 2 years old and was given to his owner as a kitten. He is friendly and likes being brushed and held. MIMSEY got an EXPERIENCE rating as he is afraid in the shelter. MIMSEY lived only with adults so nothing is known of how he would be with children or other pets. MIMSEY WAS PERFECTLY HEATLHY WHEN HE ENTERED THE ACC AND NOW HAS THE SHELTER COLD – THE ACC WILL KILL HIM TO CURE IT AT NOON IF AN ADOPTER OR FOSTER ISN’T FOUND. 03/19/15 16:06 NAME: Mimsey REASON FOR SURRENDER The owner is having health issues that prevent the owner from taking proper care of Mimsey. RELATIONSHIP Mimsey was rehomed to the owner as a kitten 2 and a half years ago. PEOPLE The cat has only been around adults. OTHER ANIMALS It is unknown how the cat is around other animals. PERSONALITY/HABITS Mimsey is an inside cat with a high activity level. The owner did frequently take him out on a harness. Mimey likes being brushed and being held. Mimsey likes to go everywhere in her home: on top of the fridge, the cabinets, cupboards, the sink, bathroom, closets, etc. He likes to scratch the rug and has never had a scratching post before. TRAINING Mimsey uses an uncovered litter box but does spray and urinate in other places other then the litter box. He has not been to the vet for this and the owner thinks it is due to him not being altered. MEDICAL There are no known medical issues at this time. BEHAVIOR DURING INTAKE Mimsey stayed to the back of his carrier. He allowed handling, but didn’t seek attention.

Owner profile: Mimsey previous owner bought him into the care center because he was no longer able to take care of him. Mimsey only lived with adults. Mimsey has never been introduced to other animals. Mimsey uses an uncovered litter box but does spray and urinate in other places other then the litter box. He has not been to the vet for this and the owner thinks it is due to him not being altered. Notes: At the time of the assessment he was displaying fearful behavior; does not seek attention from the assessor and becomes alert when the kennel was open. Retreats/starts to flee as I started to get closer I was able to pet him and interact with him in a limited way. I was also able to pick him up and although he was tense no fractious behavior was display. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents with no children. Reaction to assessor: attempts to hide upon my approach (3) When spoken quietly: continues to hide (3) Reaction to door cage opening: retreats (3) Reaction to touch: moves away from me, tries to flee cage (4) Reaction to toy or novel object: moves away from me, tries to flee cage (4) Try picking cat up: not tolerant of this type of handling, very afraid, tries to flee. Placement Determination: Experience no child
