I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 06/30/2015 from NY 10472, owner surrender reason stated was COST.

06/30/15 13:53 BASIC INFO: Meowth A1042166 is an approximately 8 month old, male, domestic shorthair cat. He was obtained by Owner as a gift from a friend, when Meowth was newborn. Meowth does not have any health concerns. SOCIALIZATION: Meowth is friendly around strangers. He has lived with a 6 year old child and was very relaxed, affectionate and respectful of the child. He plays exuberantly with children and adults. He has lived with a medium sized Poodle and they were very relaxed, respectful and affectionate with. He has never scratched or bitten anyone. BEHAVIOR: Meowth does not have any behavior issues. He did meow alot when in the car. Meowth struggles when given a bath or has his nails trimmed. He enjoys having his coat brushed, being held or placed in a carrier. He is not bothered if disturbed out of his sleep. He uses a rough rope scratching post. BEHAVIOR DURING INTAKE: Meowth was a little tense and nervous upon arrival. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW: Meowth is very friendly, affectionate and playful. He has a very high activity level. His favorite activities are to play with balls. When home, Meowth does follow Owner around. He has been kept mostly indoors. He sleeps on a cat bed. He eats dry food, brand unknown. He does use a regulare litter box with

Reaction to assessor: Meowth comes to the front and meows. When softly spoken to, he attempts to sniff the assessor. Reaction to cage door opening: Meowth backs away from the front, but remains calm. Reaction to touch: Meowth was a bit hesitant, but head-butts as soon as the assessor pet him on the head. He leans into the assessor and begins to purr. Reaction to being picked up: Meowth remains calm and allows handling. As per previous owner, Meowth is friendly around strangers and is very relaxed, affectionate, and respectful around children. He plays exuberantly with children and adults. He has also lived with a medium sized poodle, and was also relaxed, respectful, and affection with it. Meows is describes as friendly, affectionate and playful. Behavior Determination: Average Meowth interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. No known history of behavioral problems. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
