FROSTY – A1058919
Gone 11-30-2015 Manhattan
***GONE 11/30/15*** FROSTY is a snow-white female cat, who was brought in as a stray to the shelter. She was found near garbage cans by the finder’s building, with some buddies. FROSTY is very afraid at the shelter and doesn’t yet trust anyone. Because of her fearful behavior, she will need to be rescued through New Hope partners. This sweet scared 2 year old kitty will be put to death tomorrow if she isn’t fostered. She just needs some time and lots of TLC so she can learn to trust and live a happy cat life!! Please give her that chance!! FROSTY will melt your heart, if you open yours to her!!

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Frosty was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. The finder says she has been behind her building for the past two weeks with two other cats. She kept Frosty in her home for a day and gave her food and water. Frosty was growling loudly in her carrier upon intake, and hissed when staff approached her. She became fractious and resisted handling during her initial medical exam. Reaction to assessor: Frosty became stiff and alert upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Frosty looks around at her surroundings and hisses with any sudden movement. Reaction to cage door opening: Frosty remains tense and hisses. Reaction to touch: Frosty does not allow touch; she focuses on the assessor’s hand and hisses and strikes when petting was attempted. She lip licks and growls loudly afterwards. Behavior Determination: New Hope Only Frosty is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and/or may require further investigation before placement in a home. She has tried to swat, scratch, and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
