***SAFE 05/28/15/*** SWEET SENIOR ERIN IS A DECLAWED KITTY WHO WAS LEFT BEHIND WHEN OWNER MOVED – NOW SHE IS FIGHTING FOR HER LIFE AND NEEDS A RESCUE ANGEL OR SHE DIES AT NOON!! A volunteer writes: So many words can describe sweet Erin. Gentle, petite, quiet, shy and simply adorable is this tender senior soul. If you are looking for a soft pleasant companion to spend the summer afternoons with, then look no further. She is here waiting for you to come and whisk her away. She has those chubby cheeks you just want to cup in your hands and kiss. Tender is the day when you make Erin a part of your life. ERIN’s owner cruelly DECLAWED her and says it gave her arthritis – so maybe the real reason for dumping this beautiful girl is that they didn’t want to vet her. PLEASE GRANT THIS GIRL A DEATH ROW PARDON TONIGHT BY CONTACTING A RESCUE NOW TO PULL HER!

05/09/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
05/09/15 12:53 Basic Info: Erin is a 12 year old female cat who has no known injuries but was declawed and because of it has arthritis. She was surrendered to the shelter because her owner is moving to a new place that does not accept animals. Social life and Personality: She has been around children ages 4 and up and is respectful of them but did not play with them. She preferred to be pet for a little while (owner stated about 10 minutes) and then walked away from them. If they were too loud or rough with her she would attempt to run away and hide. She has not been around any other cats before so her behaviors are unknown but she has been around dogs before (according to owner she was around a Pug, Maltese, Bulldog, and Lab) and is fearful of them, trying to hide and is they try to interact with her she will hiss and swat at them. She is litter box trained and kept indoors only. Behaviors: She has not bitten or scratched anyone before. She has not been given a bath before or brushed so her behaviors are unknown and is not bothered being placed into a carrier or being held. New Family Info: She is used to clumping litter inside a hooded box. She plays with string and does not scratch on anything because she is declawed. She was fed dry food. Intake Behavior: During intake Erin approached extended hand and allowed to be scanned (negative), collared, pictured, and transferred without aggression. When touched had stiff body at first but the relaxed. When inside new carrier would retreat to back but when given wet food came to the front and began to eat.

Reaction to assessor: Erin looks neutral in her cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Erin remains crouched down on her cage bedding, immobile in place. Reaction to touch: Erin accepts the stroke, but slowly retreats away from the assessor’s hand then curls up in place. Finally, he began to slowly head-butt the hand.
