DUKAT – A1047972
8-22-2015 Brooklyn
**GONE 08/22/15** “Upon intake Dukat appeared to have a soft & relaxed body & allowed all handling.” Really? Then why does 4-year-old DUKAT carry a New Hope rating onto tonight’s jam-packed euth list? Oh, here’s why: because they let her sit in a cell and get more and more stressed out, between her intake on 8/15 to her behavioral evaluation on 8/21. Well, DUH! Of course she is going to flunk it, the poor girl is scared and defensive and completely NOT acting like her true self! Please find a New Hope rescue to see who Dukat really is, and pull her to safety tonight, or this excellent girl is going to die on account of her fear.

08/21/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Notes: Dukat was brought to the care center as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to what we are seeing during the evaluation. Dukat seems to not be thriving in this environment and at the time of the assessment She was displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and may require further investigation before placement in a home. Dukat is extremely fearful and currently does not tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time. Reaction to assessor: does not come to front but remains neutral When spoken quietly: does not come to front but remains neutral Reaction to door cage opening: becomes stiff, alert Reaction to touch: growls, hisses, does not allows petting at all Try picking cat up: did not attempt to pick the cat up, fractious behavior Placement Determination: NewHope
