06/05/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
DL seems to be slowly improving in the care center, though he remains uncomfortable with interaction and he does not solicit attention. When visited today he did not attempt to flee and he allowed petting and handling without retreating, but he did still tense up when touched and he could not be coaxed forward. We continue to recommend an experienced adopter who will allow DL to warm up to his new home and new family at his own pace, and for DL’s comfort a home without children. 6/2 eval: Notes: DL Hugley was brought to the care center as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to what we are seeing during the evaluation. At the time of the assessment he was displaying very fearful behavior; does not seek attention from the assessor and becomes alert when the kennel was open. Retreats as I started to get closer. I was able to pet him and interact with him in a limited way. Although he was tense no fractious behavior was display. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents with no children. Reaction to assessor: attempts to hide upon my approach (3) When spoken quietly: continues to hide (3) Reaction to door cage opening: retreats (3) Reaction to touch: moves away from me, tries to flee cage (4) Try picking cat up: not tolerant of this type of handling, very afraid, tries to flee. Placement Determination: Experience no child
