VOGUE was adopted from the ACC as a kitten 9 years ago. She has lived pretty much as the only cat and is used to being the center of attention. She is not happy in the shelter and got an EXPERIENCE rating. VOGUE needs a rescue angel now so she can have a furever home. 08/15/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
08/15/15 17:24 Basic Information: Vouge is a 9 year old, domestic short hair, spayed cat. She was adopted from ACC in 2006 as a kitten. She is desribed as very sweet and indepentent. Social Life and Personality: Vouge is would do best in a home without children and where she could be the featured creature. Vogue is affraid of young children. Her former owner also mentioned that she may have a fear of people wearing eye glasses. She has been seen hissing at kids and people who wear glasses. Vouge has never really spent time around other cats but she has been the only pet in the home for 8 of the last 9 years. She is very good at using the litter box but she will no use anything but an uncovered box. Vouge is shy and independent most of the time but she will let you know when her food bowl is empty. Behaviors: Vogue has no history of biting any other animals or humans. She does not like the bath and she will struggle when she is first put into the water. She will alow you to trim her nails but she will stay hard body and tense for the duration of the trimming. Vogue will allow you to pick her up and hold her once she gets to know you. For a new family to know: Vogue is used to any crystal based litter; fresh step, tidy cat. She is very particular about the type of litter box she uses. It must be uncovered and basic. Vogue loves to play with any kind of Catnip toy or ball. Her former owner did try a carpet scaratching post that did not keep the attention of Vogue. A rope scratching post might be what she is looking for. Vogue is also picky about her food, she will only eat dry food. Behavior during intake: This cat got out in the admissions office while I was transferring her from the owner’s carrier. The cat meowed a lot and hissed a few times. The cat was placed back into the carrier using a towel. The cat was allowed to sit in the carrier for a few minutes and seems to have calmed down.

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Vogue looks neutral in her cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Vogue remains lying down on her cage bedding, alert with eyes wide open. Reaction to touch: Vogue accepts the stroke, but seems unsure with the touch until she shows interest after a few strokes by raising her hind legs and slowly head-butting the assessor’s hand. Reaction to Being Picked up: She becomes frantic and jumps back into her cage. Placement determination: Experience Vogue tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
