Reaction to Assessor: Chocolate was calm and relaxed upon approach. She lies down and closes her eyes when spoken to. Reaction to cage door opening: Chocolate sits up and remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Chocolate was a little shy, but purrs and head-butts lightly. After some petting, she was coaxed forward and continues to solicit attention. Reaction to being picked up: Chocolate struggles and wants to be put down, but returns for affection. Behavior Determination: Average Chocolate interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents. ________________________________________________________________________________________ Date: 07/09/15 Notes: Chocolate was bought into the care center by her previous owner due not being able to care for all his cats. At the time of the assessment she was displaying friendly behavior, comes to the front of the kennel, interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, tolerates all petting. Chocolate is displaying behavior appropriate for a new cat owner. Reaction to assessor: does not come to front but looks at you, is calm, relaxed and friendly When spoken quietly: comes to the front of cage, soliciting attention Reaction to door cage opening: becomes a little shy, retreats but returns to the front Reaction to touch: solicits petting and attention, slow approach works best with Chocolate Try picking cat up: tolerant of this type of handling for a limited time, prefers to have all four paws on the floor Placement Determination: Average
