I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 07/12/2015 from NY 11436, owner surrender reason stated was PERS PROB.

07/12/15 17:00 Bastet is a 13 year old female tortie domestic shorthair cat who is being surrendered because the client is moving. Bastet has been with her family for 12 years. Bastet lived with 2 adults and 3 teenage children. Bastet engages all the family for petting and contact. Owner describe her as quiet and says she is tolerant of children. Bastet is an indoor cat who has not been exposed to dogs or other cats. Bastet uses a litter box with clay litter. Bastet is not receptive for bathing and will vocalize to complain. Bastet has not had a nail trim. She does not mind being picked up and enjoys being brushed. Bastet does not use toys or play with objects. She has a scratching post made of rope which she uses. When the family is home she likes to be where they are. Bastet enjoys wet and dry food. Upon intake Bastet was receptive to introduction. Bastet was semi-tense for handling but not defensive. Counselor was able to scan for microchip (negative) collar and photograph. Bastet was easily picked up and returned to the carrier.

Owner Profile: Bastet was bought into the care center due to her previous owner moving. Bastet lived with two adults and three teenage children. Bastet engages all the family for petting and contact. The previous owner describe her as quiet and says she is tolerant of children. Bastet is an indoor cat. Her behavior towards cats and dogs remain unknown. Bastet uses a litter box with clay litter. Notes: Bastet at the time of the assessment was displaying friendly behavior, comes to the front of the kennel, interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. Bastet is displaying behavior appropriate for a new cat owner. Reaction to assessor: At the front of cage, soliciting, rubbing against the cage front When spoken quietly: stays at front, continues soliciting attention Reaction to door cage opening: remains soft & relaxed Reaction to touch: solicits petting and attention, head butts, rubs on hands Try picking cat up: tolerant of this type of handling, becomes nervous Placement Determination: Average
