ASPEN – A1046157
8-18-2015 Brooklyn
***GONE 08/18/15*** SECOND CHANCE FOR ADORABLE ASPEN!! ASPEN IS A SWEET LITTLE GIRL WHO WANTS TO CELEBRATE BLACK CAT APPRECIATION DAY WITH YOU! She’s friendly, very much so, but does tend to ‘overstimulate’ and nip (this could be due to her not being spayed, intact females can sometimes respond to hormones-and she will be spayed before she leaves-unless her cold symptoms prevent it…in which case it will be scheduled by the rescue at a later date. But ASPEN adores attention and is a loving little cat, and would do great as a foster or in a permanent home! Don’t let this little girl become nothing but a memory-on black cat appreciation day, reach out and save her life!!!!!

08/03/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to Assessor: Aspen was at the front soliciting attention by rubbing against the cage door and reaching out with her paws. She chirps and gently pats the assessor’s hand with her paws when softly spoken to. Reaction to cage door opening: Aspen remains soft and relaxed and attempts to explore. Reaction to touch: Aspen head-butts, begins to purr, and drools as the assessor pets her. She nips the assessor’s hand and continues to solicit attention, but becomes tense and nips a second time and holds onto the assessor’s hand adding pressure. She seems stiff and alert, but will allow petting again when she was given time to relax. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Aspen is social and affectionate but appears to be easily overstimulated and/or plays roughly. As a result of this observed behavior we recommend adopters who are familiar with signs of behavioral arousal and agitation in cats, so that interactions can be ended before Aspen becomes overstimulated. We also recommend fishing pole-type toys for play as they allow for interaction and vigorous, stimulating exercise while keeping human hands at a distance. Due to her tendency to nip during an interaction, we feel that this cat will do best in a home without children.
