ANKA – A1059870
Gone 12-28-2015 Brooklyn
***GONE 12/28/15*** AFTER A BRIEF REPRIEVE FROM THE FIRST TIME, SWEET ANKA IS BACK ON TONIGHT’S EUTH LIST AND NEEDS YOU TO SAVE HER LIFE! ANKA IS A 3 YEAR OLD SPAYED GIRL WHO WAS DUMPED BY HER OWNER FOR PET HEALTH – BUT THIS IS MORE OF A CASE OF OWNERS WHO WERE CLUELESS ABOUT PET BEHAVIOR!! ANKA was dumped at the kill happy ACC because her owners said she was having litterbox issues. In fact they admit having her since she was found as a stray 6 months ago and they have not litterbox trained her. Cats are naturally clean animals and this seems a bit questionable – did they clean the box? and how often? ANKA was taken to the vet and no illness was found to be a cause. Poor ANKA is was on the euth list a few weeks ago and by sitting at the ACC she finally caught their germs and now has a cold! ANKA would like to have a happy new year but needs you to get her out of the ACC now! CONTACT A RESCUE NOW TO ADOPT OR FOSTER ANKA AND YOU WILL HAVE A NEW BEST FRIEND FOR LIFE!!

12/11/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Anka has lived with two adults and two children. Around children she is relaxed and will allow petting but does not engage in play. She has not been around other cats or dogs. She has been kept only indoors and is described as having a medium activity level. Anka’s previous owners report that she was eliminating outside the litterbox. Anka was seen by a veterinarian and has no known medical issues. We are unaware of what, if any, modifications steps were taken to try and address this behavior in the home, so we cannot be sure what the trigger may have been or if this behavior may continue in a future home. However, we recommend that potential adopters be comfortable with management and modification techniques for elimination outside the litterbox should this behavior continue in a home environment. Reaction to assessor: Anka does not come to front but looks at you calm and relaxed When spoken quietly: Anka does not come to front but looks at you calm and relaxed Reaction to door cage opening: Anka remains soft and relaxed Reaction to touch: Anka allows petting and attention Try picking cat up: Anka is tolerant of this type of handling with a slow approach Behavior Determination: Experience At the time of the assessment Anka was displaying shy behavior, did not come to the front of the kennel but interacts with the Assessor, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. Due to Anka inappropriate elimination she is displaying behavior appropriate for experienced cat parents.
