** SAFE 11/25/15 ** BEGINNER-rated WIZARD wants something to be thankful for! This 7-month-old kitten is such a friendly little dude, he has been head-butting and purring at everyone he meets. Given that the same people he’s trying to impress are the people who want to kill him, that’s rock solid proof of a loving, trusting nature. Thanksgiving is in a couple of days, and most people who are seeing his post right now and thankful for any number of things in their lives. 11/09/15 16:14 Wizard is a 10 year old male black domestic shorthair cat who arrived as a stray surrender. Upon intake Wizard was receptive and playful for introduction with head butting to counselors hand and purring. Wizard was loose for all handling and counselor was able to scan for microchip (negative) collar and photograph. Wizard very much enjoyed eating the wet food he was presented with. He was easily picked up and replaced to the carrier.

Reaction to assessor: Wizard comes to the front of the cage soliciting attention When spoken quietly: Wizard stays at front and continues soliciting attention Reaction to door cage opening: Wizard remains soft & relaxed Reaction to touch: Wizard solicits petting and attention Try picking cat up: Wizard is tolerant of this type of handling. Behavior Determination: Beginner Wizard was brought to the care center as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to what we are seeing during the evaluation. At the time of the assessment he was displaying friendly behavior, comes to the front of the kennel, interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. Wizard is displaying behavior appropriate for a beginner cat owner.
