TUESDAY – A1056100
Safe 11-1-2015 Manhattan Rescue: Staten Island Hope Animal Rescue Please honor your pledges: http://www.statenislandhoperescue.org/
***SAFE 11/01/15*** Perfectly healthy TUESDAY found his way into the shelter as a stray – he was calm and quiet at intake. However, when the assessor showed up, this handsome 3 year old boy hissed at first before standing up to solicit attention. He was a tad inconsistent with liking the assessor or not so they slapped him with a EXPNOCHILD rating but still put him on the public reserve site. TUESDAY is only afraid and confused. Give this boy a chance and he will prove to be a great cat! You only have til NOON Sunday to save this tuxie boy. Be his hero now and contact a rescue to adopt or foster!

10/30/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Tuesday looks tense in his cage wqhen approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Tuesday remains lying down on his cage bedding, alert with eyes wide open. Reaction to touch: Tuesday hisses at the assessor’s hand then stands with tail up to solicit attention. However, during the touch he becomes agitated then began to hiss and grumble, but after seeks more attention. Placement determination: Experience / no child Initially Tuesday solicits petting and attention, but after a few soft passes over the body he/she begins to hiss at the assessor. This may be a sign of petting-induced aggression, where repeated physical contact results in discomfort for the cat, or it may be a sign of overstimulation. As a result of this observed behavior we recommend adopters who are familiar with signs of behavioral arousal and agitation in cats, so that interactions can be ended before Tuesday becomes reactive. Treats should be used to reward appropriate responses to physical attention.
