SUNFLOWER – A1048066
8-20-2015 Brooklyn
***GONE 08/20/15*** PROPHET, USA BLUES, CHINA CAT & SUNFLOWER are stray cats that were all brought into the shelter together and desperately need your help today!. PROPHET isn’t too happy about being at the ACC. She is extremely scared and distrustful of the humans who put her in a small noisy cage. A New Hope Partner is this young orange girl’s only hope to escape a lethal injection today. Please give her a lifeline. With some TLC, she could make a great pet! USA BLUES is a 1 year old brown and white tabby male who is afraid as well. He doesn’t know what to make of the strangers who try to pet him, and he freezes in position. He has potential to be a great pet for an experienced cat owner with no children. CHINA CAT has a sweet face like a cat china doll. This sweet 5 month old is very afraid but lets herself be pet and is open to TLC from an experienced cat home without children. SUNFLOWER is a delicate Torbie female, around 1 year old. Like her companions, she was a stray as well, and not used to being touched by people. She needs a New Hope Rescue to save her life today. Please consider rescuing these sweet young cats so they can have long happy cat lives!

08/19/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Sunflower does not come to the front, but remains neutral inside her cage. She looks at the assessor when softly spoken to, but then looks away after. Reaction to cage door opening: Sunflower becomes stiff and alert. Reaction to touch: Sunflower stiffly shifts away from the assessor’s hand to avoid touch. She lop licks and focuses on the assessor’s hand. She does not allow touch; she continues to shift away and lifts her paw up to prepare to swat. Behavior Determination: New Hope Only Sunflower is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and/or may require further investigation before placement in a home. She is extremely fearful in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
