So now poor STEPHEN is facing DEATH because he has no home now. This sweet guy is friendly, affectionate and playful. He has NOT lived with other dogs or cats but is super friendly around adults and this guy even enjoys baths! STEPHEN needs a rescue angel tonight. Please take this sweet guy home! 07/22/15 12:15 Basic information Sophie is an approximately 7 year old DSH. He is being surrendered because of building management. She recieved Sophie as a gift and his last vet visit was in 2011. He has no known health problems. According to the owner, his name is sophie because the owner did not know he was a male until he was neutered. Socialization Around strangers, Sophie is very friendly and allows all petting. He is friendly and gentle with the children who visit in the owners building. He plays gently with adults and likes to rub on legs. He has not been around other cats or dogs. He has not bitten anyone or any other animal. Behavior Sophie has no behavior issues. He enjoyed the car ride and did not meow. He has no litter box problems. He enjoys baths and does not mind nail trimming. He does not mind being put into a carrier. For a new family to know. The owner describes Sophie as playful, affectionate, friendly, independent, and confident. He has a high activity level. At home, he follows the owner around and loves to be in his favorite spot. He loves to pet. He plays alot with his toys and loves to knock things off of the table. She says its pretty funny but do not put anything of value. He has been mostly kept indoors. He was being fed friskies wet food. He does not like seafood. He uses a carpet scratch post and used clumping litter. Behavior during intake Sophie is very friendly, allowed petting, and allowed all handling. He allowed to be scanned(-), collared and photographed. He purred when pet, but was a bit nervous. He had wide eyes and loose body.

Reaction to assessor: Stephen was grooming upon approach. He looks at the assessor with relaxed eyes when softly spoken to. Reaction to cage door opening: Stephen remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Stephen remains in place, leans on the assessor’s hand, and starts to purr. Reaction to being picked up: Stephen remains calm and allows handling. As per previous owner, Stephen is very friendly and allows all petting around strangers. He is friendly and gentle around children too. He plays gently with adults and likes to rub on their legs. He is described as playful, affectionate, friendly, independent, and confident with a high activity level. He would follow the owner around and loves to be pet. Behavior Determination: Average Stephen interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. No known history of behavioral problems. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
