PRETTYLOLO – A1044887

8-9-2015 Manhattan

Previous | Next

**GONE 08/09/15** PRETTYLOLO lives up to her name by being utterly stunning! Her sweet little ear tips were lost to the cold and since she isn’t spayed, and since she lived with a male cat, she might be pregnant. PRETTYLOLO has a nice EXPERIENCE rating and should NOT be killed just because she has yet to catch a foster/adopters’ eye. Please help save her tonight by sharing PRETTYLOLO far and wide!

07/21/15 13:47 BASIC INFO: PrettyLoLo A1044887 is an approximately 4 year old domestic shorthair cat. She was given to the Owner a year ago, and the Owner cannot take with them because they are moving to a place out of state where pets are not allowed. She has never lived with kids. She only lived with Adults and played gentle with them. She lived with a male cat whom she was respectful and affectionate with. /She has never bitten orscratched anyone. BEHAVIOR: The only behavior issues that she has is that she will pee and poop outside of her litterbox at least once a week. She enjoyed riding in a car. She has never been given a bath or had her nails trimmed but she does enjoy being brushed. She is not bothered if held or placed in a carrier. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW: Best way to decribe Pretty is by saying that she is affectionate, shy and quiet. She has a low activity level and she loves to eat alot. When home, she tends to stay in her favorite spot. She loves to play with strings and balls. She lived mainly indoors. She slept on Owners bed. Was fed Meow MIx dry, open bowl. She uses a regular litterbox with Fresh Step litter. She does not scratch. BEHAVIOR DURING INTAKE: Pretty Lolo was super sweet through out the whole process.

07/24/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
PrettyLolo lived previously with adults, with whom she was gentle. She is reported to be friendly with strangers and to have been affectionate with a previous cat housemate. She has not lived with children. Her previous owners describe her as “affectionate, shy and quiet.” She is noted to urinate and defecate outside her litterbox approximately once a week. We are unaware of what, if any, modifications steps were taken to try and address this behavior in the home, so we cannot be sure what the trigger may have been or if this behavior may continue in a future home. However, we recommend that potential adopters be comfortable with management and modification techniques for elimination outside the litterbox should this behavior continue in a home environment. PrettyLolo was social and easy to handle throughout the intake process. She demonstrated some distance-increasing behaviors during her initial medical examination, hissing and growling with a tense body, but at the time of her behavior evaluation PrettyLolo was again social and affectionate. Reaction to assessor: PrettyLolo rolls onto her side, eyes and body soft, as the assessor approaches. Reaction to cage door opening: Remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: PrettyLolo sniffs the assessor’s hand, rubs, and head-butts. She allows all petting, and approaches the front of the cage to continue the interaction after the assessor has stepped away. Placement determination: Experience PrettyLolo interacts with the Assessor, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. She demonstrates behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents. However, due to her reported inappropriate elimination, we recommend experienced adopters comfortable with managing this behavior should it manifest in her future home.
