A little shy at first, Macha has really opened up and loves attention. This lovely girl would do great in almost any home and has lived with cats before. Come meet this tabby beauty today! Her beautiful coat is super-soft, she’s friendly but not needy, and she’s been in a home before, so she has all that good manners stuff down pat. But the biggest reason to bring Macha into your home? This sweet girl has been at the Care Center since early October; she was brought here after her former owner died. Since then, Macha has been waiting so patiently for a second shot with a forever family. Reaction to assessor: Macha comes to the front and rubs her head on the cage door. Reaction when softly spoken to: Macha reaches out with her paw. Reaction to cage door opening: Macha remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Macha leans into petting, but may not like petting on her lower back. She swipes the assessor’s hand when her lower back is touched, but she will continue to allow petting on her head and starts to purr. Reaction to being picked up: Macha becomes tense and struggles away from the assessor’s arms. She swipes the assessor’s hand afterwards, but doesn’t display any further reaction. Behavior Determination: Experience Macha interacts with the observer and appreciates attention, but she may not like being pet on certain areas of her body. She also appears to be easily overstimulated. As a result of this observed behavior we recommend adopters who are familiar with signs of behavioral arousal and agitation in cats, so that interactions can be ended before Macha becomes overstimulated. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents. Date: 11/10/15 Reaction to assessor: Macha comes to the front and meows. Reaction when softly spoken to: Macha solicits attention and rubs on the cage door. Reaction to cage door opening: Macha remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Macha head-butts and appreciates gentle petting, but she pats the assessor’s hand gently without nails when pet too rough or too fast. She will continue to solicit attention afterwards. Reaction to being picked up: Macha remains calm and allows handling. Behavior Determination: Average Macha interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate cat parents with average experience.
