ZINC – A1046779
8-23-2015 Staten Island
***SAFE 08/23/15*** SECOND CHANCE FOR ZINC! STATEN ISLAND NATIVE WINDS UP AT ACC!!!!! THIS SWEET GIRL IS A CHARMING, TALKIVIE AND SOCIAL SENIOR GIRL, BROUGHT IN TO THE ACC ON 8/05/15. She’s a sweet cat, who may well be a lost pet-or one the owner decided to just ‘dump’-and ZINC deserves so much better. ZINC is all one could want in a cat-and her 10 years mean nothing-many cats can live at least another 10. ZINC has made the list once before and survived-but this time she’s in trouble and without rescue could well die! Don’t let that happen to this sweet little tuxie girl with the big eyes who has been a pet, and has no idea why she’s in this cold steel place. Please save this sweet ladycat tonight!!!!!

08/05/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
08/05/15 14:44 Profile wasn’t left due to animal being stray. Behavior During Intake: Zinc was brought into the facility in the finders dog carrier. Upon arrival to the facility Zinc was very vocal and pretty active in the carrier. When I extended my hand to rub the cat the cat nudged its head into it initiating interaction and I was able to rub and pet the cat. She was then startled by the noise outside from the contruction and became a bit fractious and hissy. For that reason I wasn’t able to handle Zinc much after. In a more quieter enviorment I believe Zinc would be fine.

08/08/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Zinc came into the care center as a friendly stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. She has been frightened by loud noises in the care center, but otherwise has been social and easy to handle. Zinc was initially timid during her behavior evaluation, but warmed up to the interaction quickly and solicited attention from the Assessor. Reaction to Assessor: Zinc is resting in her cage, still and quiet. Reaction to cage door opening: Remains motionless. Reaction to touch: With a slow approach and soft speaking Zinc warms up quickly, rubs on the Assessor’s hand, rolls over, and allows all handling. Placement determination: Average Zinc interacts with the Assessor, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
