07/01/15 12:38 BASIC INFO Zach’s family got him as a gift from a friend 1 year ago and surrendered him because the children in the family have allergies. SOCIALIZATION Zach is shy with new people for a few minutes. He lived with 2 children ages 4 and 11 and was relaxed, affectionate, and tolerant with them. He plays exuberantly with people. He hasn’t been around other pets. He’s never bit anyone. He scratched his adult owner once while she was walking past him about 3 weeks ago. BEHAVIOR Zach is nervous in the car. He enjoys being brushed. He doesn’t mind being put in a carrier or woken up. He sometimes doesn’t mind being held, and other times he jumps away. He struggles during baths. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW Zach’s family describes him as friendly, affectionate, playful, shy, talkative, smart, and high energy. He follows his family and sits in their laps. He enjoys playing with balls, string, wand toys, and stuffed toys, and makes toys out of other objects he finds. He lived inside and slept in his carrier or on a couch or chair. He ate dry Purina food. He’s littertrained and doesn’t have accidents. He’s been using an uncovered litterbox with clumping litter. He scratched a horizontal cat scratcher in addition to the furniture. INTAKE Zach walked out of his carrier onto the table and jumped to the floor. He walked to a corner and allowed me to pick him up and put him in his kennel. He was tense in the back of his kennel while I pet, scanned (-), collared, and photographed him. He didn’t resist/vocalize.
