POOR YASMIN’S OWNERS KNEW SOMETHING MAY BE WRONG WITH HER BUT NEVER VETTED HER. NOW THAT SHE HAS A LITTERBOX ACCIDENT, THEY DUMP HER IN THE ACC WHERE SHE DIES TOMORROW!!! Yasmin was the purrfect kitty. She lived with adults, 4 children and a couple small dogs. Yasmin had perfect house manners. She was very playful with the shih tzus that were in the home. Yasmin’s owners noticed a small mass on her abdomen 6 months ago but never took her to the vet. Now Yasmin has had a few litterbox accidents and BINGO – right to the shelter. Is this fair?? The accidents may be directly related to the mass on her belly. GET YASMIN A DEATH ROW PARDON TONIGHT SO THIS BEAUTIFUL CAT CAN GET TO A VET AND LIVE. CONTACT A RESCUE TO FOSTER OR ADOPT!!

04/13/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
4/13/15 Yasmin’s family got her from a friend 11yr ago. They surrendered her due to litterbox accidents and the cost of vet care. Yasmin lived w/ 4 children ages 0-19. She’s fearful of children and shy w/ strangers. She usually stays in the closet away from them. On 2 occasions about 1 yr ago, she walked by and scratched a child quickly before running away. About 2-3 yr ago, she and her owner encountered each other in a doorway, coming from opposite directions. Yasmin scratched her leg. She broke skin w/ the 3 people that she scratched. Yasmin lived w/ a bulldog and a shih tzu. She’s affectionate and plays w/ them, especially the shih tzu. She sometimes scratches him when they encounter each other in the doorway, never breaking skin. Yasmin’s family describes her as friendly, affectionate, quiet, independent, shy, and medium activity. She cuddles up w/ her owner for naps and gives kisses when asked. She spends most of her time in the closet but likes siting in her owner’s lap too. She plays by herself and w/ the dogs but generally not w/ people or toys. Yasmin lived inside and slept in the closet. She ate Friskies dry food and used an uncovered litterbox w/ clumping litter. Yasmin’s family said that she’s been urinating out of her box on soft surfaces (pillows, beds, clothes) daily for about 1 yr. She was littertrained and hadn’t had accidents before this. She still defecates and sometimes urinates in her box. She hasn’t seen a vet. It started suddenly and her family doesn’t know of any major changes in their home. Yasmin has had a possible mass hanging from her abdomen for about 6mo. She used to spend time around the house but has been hiding in the closet for the past yr. She had a small, hard BM in her carrier w/ a lot of fur in it. Her owner thinks that her stool has always been like that. Yasmin scratches furniture. She runs away when someone tries to pick her up. She runs and hides when someone tries to put her in a carrier. Her owners used towels to trap her and encourage her in. She cries in the car. Yasmin was a little tense as she walked slowly out of her carrier onto the counter. She lied down w/ her front paws tucked in and allowed me to scan(-), collar, pet, and photograph her. I picked her up and backed her into a carrier. She was easy to handle and didn’t resist, retreat, or vocalize.
