***SAFE 10/15/15 *** WONDERFUL WALTER IS ANOTHER SENIOR GENT IN NEED OF A LOVING HOME…..WALTER was being fed behind someone’s building and this person couldn’t keep him so he’s at the ACC….WALTER got along fine with the finder’s cats. He is already NEUTERED and is POLYDACTYL…He does have dental issues that need to be addressed to make him more comfortable……WALTER HAS AN AVERAGE RATING AND IS VERY FRIENDLY….BRING HOME AN OLDER MAN TONIGHT!! I am a neutered male gray tabby domestic sh mix. The shelter thinks I am about 12 YEARS old.
I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 10/04/2015 from NY 10460, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY.

10/04/15 15:12 Walter A1053699 was found behind the finder’s building. She says that he is very friendly. She found him Wednesday 9/30/2015 and has been feeding him friskies wet food. Walter was friendly with her other cats in the home. She has 3 cats and can not keep him. Behavior during intake Walter allowed to be transferred into a kennel. He tried to flee. Inside of the kennel, he is fearful but tolerates all petting and purred when rubbed under his chin.

Reaction to assessor: Walter looks neutral in his cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Walter remains crouched down at the back of the cage, alert with eyes wide open. Reaction to touch: Walter accepts the stroke, stands with tail up, purrs in place and appreciates petting on the head and body. Reaction to Being Picked up: He becomes antsy and jumps back into his cage. Placement determination: Average Walter interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
