He is a gorgeous orange boy who would meow to be near his owner. He has lived with both cats and dogs and got along well with them. VIto needs you tonight to give him a death row pardon. 04/23/15 19:48 Basic Information: Vito is a 2 year old orange tabby unneutered male cat. Vito was bred at home and still lived at home with his parents and sibling. Vito is not declawed and owner stated there are no injuries or health problems with Vito. Vito has never been to the vet or had shots. Owner surrender Vito because she is moving to Florida and has multiple reason why Vito can’t come along such as him not being neutered, meows too much, and too many pets. Social Life and Behavior: Owner was an elderly female and Vito lives alone. Vito has never been around children. If owner has visitors at the house Vito doesn’t interact with strangers. Vito lived with 4 other cats and 2 dogs. Vito is relaxed, affectionate and respectful towards the cats in the household. He loved playing with his brother and sisters and being underneath his parents owner stated. Owner believes Vito will meow all day because he wanted to be next to his parents. Vito is respectful and tolerant towards the two dogs in the household. Behavior: Owner stated Vito activity level is to a medium. He mostly sleeps and plays most of the day. Vito likes to play with balls, strings and scratching post (made out of carpet). Vito doesn’t like to be picked up and held. He will struggle to be put down. Owner stated Vito likes to be petted and be brushed. He likes to follow owner around the house or be in his favorite spot which is the bed or next to owner on the couch. For a New Family to Know: Owner stated Vito eats wet and dry food called Friskes twice a day morning and night. Vito likes to eat treats called Temptations. Owner stated meows cries/mows too much and believes he wants to be by his parents in the house at all times. Vito is an indoor cat and shared an uncovered litter box with 4 other cats which was cleaned out daily. Owner stated Vito is well behaved when home alone but talkative and mellow. Intake Behavior: Upon intake Vito came inside of a crate. Vito stayed cuddled up in the corner of the cage shaking. When approached Vito will meow, growl, and hiss. Vito never tried to bite or scratch. Once handlers reach out to pick up Vito he rolled on her back in fetal position. Due to nervous situation he wasn’t scanned for a microchip and allowed limited handling.

Owner Profile: Vito was bought into the care center by his previous owner that is moving out of state. Vito has not been around children so his behavior towards them are unknown. He has lived with three other cats and two dogs. He got along well with the other animals. Owner stated Vito activity level is to a medium. He mostly sleeps and plays most of the day. Vito is litter box trained. Notes: At the time of the assessment he was displaying fearful behavior; does not seek attention from the assessor and becomes alert when the kennel was open. Retreats as I started to get closer,hisses when attempted to touch. Vito is very fearful in the shelter environment. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents with no children. Reaction to assessor: was hiding when I approach cage (3) When spoken quietly: continues to hide (3) Reaction to door cage opening: retreats (3) Reaction to touch: hisses, 4) Try picking cat up: not tolerant of this type of handling, very afraid, hisses Placement Determination: Experience no child
