Notes: Tyler was brought to the shelter as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history previous to what we are seeing during the evaluation. At the time of the assessment she was displaying some fearful behavior, did not come to the front of the kennel , but allows petting , allows handling but becomes a little nervous and tolerates all petting. Tyler is displaying behavior appropriate for new cat parents. Reaction to assessor: does not come to front but remains neutral (2) When spoken quietly: does not come to front but remains neutral (2) Reaction to door cage opening: remains motionless (2) Reaction to touch: seems indifferent to my presence and touch (2) Reaction to toy or novel object: shows no interest in playing (3) Try picking cat up: tolerant of this type of handling but tense.
