*** GONE 05/05/15 *** TRIBECA’S OWNER PASSED AWAY-save this sweet girl! She’s a timid but sweet little girl and whoever brought her in said she wasn’t fond of other people, but yet she allowed petting and attention from the ACC assessor. She was scared but showed no aggression during her exam. Now TRIBECA needs a hero who will see past just another black and white cat to a well behaved and sweet little lady with nice manners who’s just been evicted from her home and lost a beloved friend. Please don’t let this gentle, sweet girl’s life end tomorrow!!! SAVE TRIBECA NOW!!!

04/23/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
04/23/15 17:15 Tribeca’s owner recently passed away. Client stated that Tribeca only every interacted with her owner and that she is fearful of new people and men especially. She did scratch someone in the last 10 days while struggling to get away while being place in the carrier. During the intake, she was very nervous. She had a stiff body and dilated pupils and she kept licking her lips. She backed further into the carrier and licked her lips more when I approached. She allowed me to scan her, (negative scan), and collar her and she showed no signs of aggression.

04/30/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to Assessor: Tribeca is calm and relaxed upon approach. When softly spoken to, she looks at the assessor with relaxed eyes and blinks slowly. Reaction to cage door opening: Tribeca remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Tribeca was hesitant at first, but allows touch and begins to relax; she remains in place for petting, closes her eyes, and starts to purr. Reaction to being picked up: Tribeca becomes stiff and extends her legs to stay put on the ground. However, she allows handling. As per previous owner’s relative, Tribeca only interacted with her owner and is fearful of new people and men. She has scratched someone unintentionally when they were trying to place her into a carrier. She was nervous upon intake into the care center, but allowed handling. She was very tense during her initial medical exam, but also allowed handling and did not show any signs of aggression. Behavior Determination: Experience Tribeca appreciates petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
