***GONE 12/23/15*** For some, the holidays are a wonderful time of year…brings out the BEST in MOST people. But the isolated cases where one could DUMP their cat due to a mammary tumor, there are no printable words! This is Tookie’s case. The 5 year old is RESCUE ONLY. And is just as well. This girl needs to be seen by a competent vet,is at the time ,a FOSTER would be ideal, as the pulling RESCUE would pay for vetting. Or ADOPTION is another option, but either way a New Hope Rescue is needed to pull her so PLEASE contact one NOW! No matter what or who you believe in, give them a shout… This girl needs all the miracles that she can get!

12/22/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Tookie’s previous owner reports that she has been around children ages 8 months to 13 years old and is relaxed and affectionate around them. When she plays, she is gentle. She has not been around cats, but in her previous home with a Pit-bull, she was relaxed and affectionate. She has a medium activity level and was described as playful, confident, friendly, affectionate, quiet, and independent. Please note that this cat is being treated for a medical condition at the time of evaluation. It is difficult to determine at this time how the medical condition may be affecting the behavior. Reaction to assessor: Tookie is tense by the back and seems to be in pain. Reaction when softly spoken to: Tookie does not respond. Reaction to cage door opening: Tookie becomes stiff and alert; hissing and snorting. Reaction to touch: Tookie does not allow touch; she hisses, growls, and snorts. The evaluation ended here to reduce stress levels for the cat. Behavior Determination: New Hope Only Tookie is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and/or may require further investigation before placement in a home. She is displaying extreme distance-increasing behavior and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
