TOMMY BAGS – A1040138
6-23-2015 Manhattan
***SAFE 06/23/15***ADORABLE & AFFECTIONATE TOMMY BAGS NEEDS YOU! Oh, boy! Here’s another sad tale that needs a happy ending. Tommy Bags is a three year old HEALTHY & ALREADY NEUTERED boy who was brought to the shelter by the police who were called when he kept trying to enter an apartment building. It seems obvious that he is somebody’s lost (or abandoned) pet. Upon intake, this fab fella was very chatty and allowed all petting and handling. He’s naturally scared at the shelter but this is definitely the kind of kitty you want curled up next to you on the couch. It is apparent that he once had a home. Can you be Tommy Bags’ hero and return him to where he belongs—a loving home? If you can help, please reserve Tommy Bags online or contact a NH rescue for help with transportation. And don’t forget that fostering saves lives so if you live in NYC or nearby, please let a rescue know if you can offer temporary safe haven. Be THE SOMEBODY in “somebody do something!” Be Tommy Bags’ rescue angel!

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Tommy looks neutral in his cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Tommy lying down on his cage bedding, alert with eyes wide open. Reaction to touch: Tommy stands with tail up and accepts the stroke, but during the touch began to meow whine and low growl at the assessor’s hand. Placement determination: Experience / no child Tommy Bags tolerates attention and petting but may be stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
