TOBY – A1049792
Gone 9-19-2015 Manhattan
***GONE 09/19/15 *** TERRIFIC TOBY ALLOWED HIMSELF TO BE CARRIED AROUND THE HOUSE BY A NINE YEAR OLD…Imagine his disappointment at being separated from his friend and being dumped at the ACC…to add insult to injury, his former owner thought she was getting a kitten from her sister, not an adult cat…..TOBY has an experience rating at the shelter but he would play fetch with mouse toys at home so a little play time will be all that TOBY needs to feel at home…..PLEASE GIVE HIM THE HOME HE DESERVES AND OFFER TO FOSTER OR ADOPT HIM NOW!!

08/30/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
08/30/15 19:15 BASIC INFORMATION The owner is surrendering Toby because she is expecting a new baby. She has been caring for Toby for the last 2 months and is worried about the baby and the cat. He has not been to a vet and he has no known health issues. She recieved him as a gift from her sister but she said that she was expecting a kitten but did not know that he was already an adult cat. She says that he is spraying and since she is pregnant she is worried about the litter and urine. He has not been neutured. SOCIALIZATION The owner describes Toby as very friendly and outgoing. Her 9 year old son takes care of him because of the pregnancy. He plays with toby and carries him around the house. Toby knows how to play basketball and knows how to fetch. He plays exuberantly with her son. Toby has not been around other dogs or cats since shes had him. He has not bitten anyone or any other animal. BEHAVIOR Toby has been having litter box problems. He has been urinating around the house, on clothes, corners of the rooms, and in the tub. She can not have any contact with litter, so this has been an issue. He has not been given a bath or has had his nails trimmed, so his reaction is unknown.Toby loves being brushed and loves to be held. He was calm and relaxed during the car ride. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW The owner describes Toby as friendly, independent, outgoing, Playful, affectionate, and confident. She says that Toby sucks on his own thumb like a baby and she was very surprised the first time she saw him do that. He plays with his toys, especially his mouse ones. The owner’s son plays fetch with Toby. Toby knows how to get a toy and bring it back. He was being fed Meow Mix dry food and friskies wet food. He sleeps in the living room or the couch. He used clumping litter and an open litter box. BEHAVIOR DURING INTAKE Toby was very friendly and headbutted my hand as I scanned him(-). He allowed me to collar him and he purred as I pet him. He is very friendly and allowed handling.

09/02/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Toby looks neutral in his cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Toby remains sitting upright by the front of the cage, alert with eyes wide open. Reaction to touch: Toby accepts the stroke but flinches during the touch then draws attention away from the assessor’s hand and began to observe his surroundings. He remains cautious and would prefer to explore outside of the cage. Placement determination: Experience Toby tolerates attention and petting but may be stressed in the shelter. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
