SAFE- 04/18/15 SHY LITTLE EBONY GIRL, THEA, NEEDS SOME ENCOURAGEMENT….A Staff Member Writes: Thea may be afraid of her own shadow, but she’ll bring a ray of sunshine into your home! Once I brought her into a separate room with me, she got comfortable on my lap and purred away. You definitely have to go slow with her and give her time to warm up to you, but it will be time well spent. TAKE A CHANCE ON THIS BLACK BEAUTY AND YOU WON’T BE DISAPPOINTED!!

04/02/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Notes: Thea was brought to the shelter as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history previous to what we are seeing during the evaluation. At the time of the assessment she was displaying fearful behavior; does not seek attention from the assessor and becomes alert when the kennel was open. Retreats as I started to get closer but after a steady low approach using soft voices she relaxed a little and I was able to pet her and interact with her in a limited way. Although she was tense no fractious behavior was display. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents. Reaction to assessor: does not come to front but remains neutral (2) When spoken quietly: does not come to front but remains neutral (2) Reaction to door cage opening: remains motionless (2) Reaction to touch: seems indifferent to my presence and touch (2) Reaction to toy or novel object: shows no interest in playing (3) Try picking cat up: Did not attempt, Fearful Placement Deremination: Experience
