GONE 04/14/15 – LUIGI -A1032759 – MANHATTAN, NY
4-14-2015 Manhattan
LUIGI BETRAYED BY OWNER WHO BRINGS HIM TO ACC TO BE KILLED BECAUSE OF ‘NEW BABY’ EXCUSE-now he’s SADDLED WITH A NEW HOPE RATING! LUIGI has not got a mean bone in his little body, but the ACC deemed him ‘New Hope’ because when someone tried to pet him he pushed their hand away! LUIGI looks as though he’s not been cared for well, and his former ‘owner’ abandoned him at ACC because they had a baby, as if cats and babies had never lived together! LUIGI is grieving and frightened, and hasn’t been happy, but he’s not been aggressive, either, though he wasn’t happy during his exam and did give a hard time-but many cats do that! LUIGI has the shiny thick coat of a Russian Blue, the dark grey ‘blue’ color with a slightly visable undercoat-and Russian Blues are loyal and loving. LUIGI deserves so much better than being killed tomorrow, don’t you think? What to give him a chance to live? Please offer to foster this fine fellow! He won’t take up much room and he’s lived with other cats and been fine. Help LUIGI to live and love and find a home-be his hero now!

04/13/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Luigi was calm and relaxed upon approach. When softly spoken to, his eyes squints and he lip licks. Reaction to cage door opening: Luigi remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Luigi meows and tries to avoid touch by backing away from the assessor’s hand. When trying to pet him, he pats the assessor’s hand down with his paw and was about to bite the assessor’s hand, but backs away again instead. As per previous owner, Luigi has lived with 3 adults and 2 children for a few years. He also lived with other cats, in which he got along with well. They said he enjoys petting, uses a scratch post, but can be shy and hide a lot. They suggest a quiet home with no small children would be in his best interest. He was difficult to handle during his initial medical exam. This may be due to fear of being brought to a foreign environment. Behavior Determination: NH ONLY Luigi is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and/or may require further investigation before placement in a home. He has tried to swat, scratch, and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
