HIDING IN A TRAIN STATION…..”Pancakes was found hiding and soaking wet behind the support structure for the MTA Trains by two staff members on their way home.” This shy guy has turned out to be VERY friendly and affectionate with an AVERAGE rating. PANCAKES is 3 yrs old and NEUTERED. LET’S GET PANCAKES OFF THE TRACKS AND HEADED TO A HOME HE CAN CALL HIS OWN!!

I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 03/26/2015 from NY 11208, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY.

Pancakes was very timid at first, but slowly approached the staff memeber when they extended their hand. Staff member was able to pet Pancakes and him inside a carrier.

Notes: Pancakes was brought to the shelter as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history previous to what we are seeing during the evaluation. At the time of the assessment he was displaying friendly behavior, comes to the front of the kennel, interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. Pancakes is displaying behavior appropriate for a beginner cat owner. Reaction to assessor: comes to the front of the cage, soliciting, rubbing against the cage front (1) When spoken quietly: stays at front, continues soliciting attention (1) Reaction to door cage opening: remains soft & relaxed (1) Reaction to touch: solicits petting and attention (1) Reaction to toy or novel object: show no interest Try picking cat up: tolerant of this type of handling, gets a little nervous when held for to long Placement Deremination: Average
